TRAVEL AND CRUISES
In the millenary Ronda the threads that make up the multicolored fabric of one of the most interesting cities in Andalusia are united and intertwined. The landscape, the urban planning, the history, the romantic legend of bandits of famous names, the place where bullfighters and artists are born and made, make Ronda a unique city.
The impressive chronicle of literary authors who were captivated by this city can be traced from the most ancient texts until today; Pliny, the poet king of Seville al-Motamid, al-Idrisi, Ibn al-Khatib, Vicente Espinel, Rilke, Juan Ramón Jiménez and Juan Goytisolo are some names of the long list of authors who have written eloquent pages of Ronda, where, according to its natives, it rains upwards and the birds fly at the feet of those who look out over the Tagus.
The city invites to an unhurried tour, which allows to appreciate in detail the features of the old Arab medina, on the south bank of the Guadalevín river, which still retains part of its walls, cross the New Bridge and stroll through the Alameda del Tajo, stopping at the corners and monumental works that open their doors to visitors; without forgetting to regain strength in one of the restaurants that offer a good selection of dishes of the gastronomy of the Serranía.
The urban center is divided into three areas perfectly differentiated from each other: the city or old Arab medina which, from the historical point of view, is the most important, the neighborhood of San Francisco, separated by the Walls, and the Mercadillo, which is located on the other side of the Guadalevín River.
